My SXSW Presentation Proposal: Actor to MBA: A Blueprint For Making a Stark Career Pivot
Please vote if you find it helpful!
Hey everyone!
I was super lucky to have won a free badge to SXSW in 2024 - and the people I met there changed my life - and led to everything I am doing right now. I thought a lot about how I could get involved and *hopefully* provide someone with even a small dose of the inspiration others provided for me last year.
I speak to so many students and recent grads on how to pivot careers - something that is very challenging but can be done with strategy and strong relationship building skills. I hope to demystify how to get from where you are to where you want to be, and how to figure out where you want to end up, if you don’t currently know.

A Glimpse at My Pitch
Have you ever wanted to pivot into an industry, function, or school, that you have little to no experience in? I did, and I want to help you do it too.
I went from having a BFA in theater to an MBA from Columbia Business School, and now I work in media & tech strategy.
2012-2020, I was a professional actor.
Fast forward to 2024, and I have my MBA, have interviewed hundreds of leaders in tech & entertainment, founded a company, wrote for CNN and am launching a career podcast. It's possible to drastically change your trajectory and create a path that is fulfilling for you.
I did this through strategic and unconventional steps that I want to walk you through, to get you where you want to go.
Takeaways
